A Study on Validity of Career Exploration Readiness Scale for Middle School Students

Abstract

|
The purpose of this study is to conduct research of validity measuring scientifically and objectively the career development and readiness of middle school students. This study intend to verify outcomes after applying the program of artistic and psychological treatment and collage career counselling and provide basic data necessary for career education for middle school students. The theoretical background was the establishment of models and subfactors of the test of the degree of preparing career exploration through considering preceding research and test tools related to career, maturity, and development. The method of study was to analyze factors and compute reliability coefficient by making out questions according to theoretical models and then conducting a test for a total of 523 middle school students. The conclusion of this study was as follows. First, subfactors of the test of the degree of preparing career exploration were divided into career plan, career identity, contextual background, self-efficacy, self-understanding, career information, problem solving, decision making. Second, as a result of carrying out the exploratory factor analysis of the test of the degree of preparing career exploration, more than .30 of questions were found and reliability coefficients of each factor were showed consistently ranging from .565 to .934.
